High Flow Series Cartridges

Graver High Flow Series Filters feature a larger geometry to handle higher flows with fewer filter elements. The result is much faster, easier filter changeouts. In addition, the inside to outside flow allows for excellent dirt holding capacity, extending the time between filter changeouts. Filter housings are also available and because of the filter high flow and dirt holding capacity, smaller systems are possible, reducing upfront capital costs.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is a High Flow Series cartridge? +

High Flow Series cartridge filters are designed with a larger diameter than traditional cartridge filters, allowing them to handle significantly higher flow rates with fewer elements. This design reduces the overall number of cartridges needed, making filtration systems more compact, efficient, and cost-effective. High Flow cartridges are ideal for applications where high throughput, reduced maintenance, and optimized footprint are key priorities.

2. Can High Flow Cartridges be used in hot water applications? +

Yes. High Flow cartridges are designed to withstand up to ten 30-minute hot water cycles at 181°F (83°C) at 5 PSID, making them suitable for sanitization and sterilization procedures. While High Flow cartridges typically do not process hot water as part of normal filtration, hot water is occasionally used to clean and sterilize the filters between production cycles.

This durability allows them to perform reliably in demanding process environments where periodic hot water exposure is needed for system hygiene and maintenance.

3. Are these Cartridges compatible with chemical cleaning agents? +

High Flow cartridges are compatible with most common chemical cleaning agents and can operate effectively within a pH range of 4–12. They are available in several filter media configurations, allowing you to match the cartridge to your process needs.

However, while they can tolerate many cleaning chemistries, this is not a common use case. East Coast Filter offers other filter configurations that deliver better performance and are more cost-effective for frequent chemical cleaning or aggressive sanitation cycles.

If you’re unsure which configuration or media is best for your application, our Application Engineers can help guide you to the ideal choice.

4. What industries commonly use High Flow Filter Cartridges? +

High Flow filter cartridges are widely used in industries that require high-volume liquid filtration with minimal downtime. Common applications include power generation, food & beverage processing, pharmaceuticals, and industrial water treatment. They are also heavily used in municipal drinking water systems, pre-RO filtration, PFAS treatment processes, and pre-carbon bed filtration where high flow capacity and consistent particulate removal are essential.

5. Are Filter Housings available for these Cartridges? +

Yes. East Coast Filter offers a full range of filter housings specifically designed for High Flow Series cartridges. These housings are engineered to provide proper sealing, optimized flow distribution, and the structural performance needed for high-capacity filtration. They are also available with NSF certifications and can be configured in either vertical or horizontal orientations to improve accessibility and make servicing significantly easier.
